Teaching and Education courses
Education is a varied profession which will provide you with the satisfaction of supporting people to grow and develop.
You'll be able to work with children, adults, families, communities and businesses to discover how great teaching inspires individuals to achieve their potential.
The latest Ofsted inspection report for the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Partnership at the college has rated our provision as Good. The report in August 2018, following the inspection in June, found that we provided good outcomes for trainees, good quality training across the partnership and also assessed the leadership and management to be good.

Our Education and Professional Development courses provide an interesting range of modules that explore education at both undergraduate and postgraduate academic levels. Some courses have a particular focus in terms of sector and others cater for all sectors with pathways available to enable you to pursue a specialism. Education is made up of the primary (4-11), secondary (11-18) and the post compulsory sector (14 to adult). The Foundation degree in Supporting and Managing Learning in Education (SMLE) and Education Studies degree look at all sectors of education. The Foundation Degree provides professional development for those working in learning support in the primary, secondary and post compulsory sector. Students from the Education Studies degree progress onto a range of careers and further studies in learning support, educational administration and teacher training courses e.g. PGCE.
As Bradford’s leading ITE provider we offer a range of teacher training courses that cover Primary, Secondary and Post-Secondary sectors. Our students enjoy a tailored learning experience fully supported by a dedicated team of tutors and school/college-based mentors. We have a strong tradition of producing effective practitioners grounded in educating children and adults in a multi-ethnic world. We have excellent employability rates for our graduates with over 80% directly entering the teaching profession. View our range of courses.
This route is designed for people with considerable school-based experience to gain QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) without an academic award such as a PGCE. The intention is to certify the teaching of those already employed in schools, against the Teachers’ Standards. Candidates must have experience of teaching the English National Curriculum across at least two age and ability ranges in two different settings.
Our range of courses are suitable for those wishing to teach in a variety of adult education settings, secondary schools (14+), sixth forms, further education colleges and universities. You will benefit from an outstanding team of educators.
Qualifications are available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels via full-time (1 year) and part-time (2 year) routes. You will need a Level 3 qualification or a degree in your specialist subject. Specialist routes in English and maths are also available.
