Free English and Maths courses

We offer FREE English and Maths courses for adults aged 19 and over. Places are still available - call 01274 433333 to book an initial assessment.

Our supportive and engaging learning environment supports all levels from Entry Level to Level 2. You will complete an assessment and then will be allocated a class at the appropriate level for you.

Why study English and Maths?

These essential qualifications are needed in most jobs today. Employers want English and Mathematics, and you will struggle to pass your course, progress or secure employment in your chosen career without them. You also need to be able to communicate well and understand numbers in daily life.

There are no formal entry requirements. 

Courses available

English courses:

In these courses, you will work on your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. An Individual Learning Plan will be designed to develop your existing skills. Assessment is on-going throughout the year to prepare you for the examinations at the end of the course. You will be assessed on your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Entry is available throughout the year for Functional Skills English.

We offer English Workshops to support you on our range of accredited courses. 

Mathematics courses:

In these courses, you will work on numbers and calculations, measures and solving problems. An Individual Learning Plan will be established to reinforce and develop your existing skills. Assessment is through end-of-course assignments or examinations. Entry for GCSE is September. Entry is available throughout the year for Functional Skills and the Principles of Using Mathematical Techniques.

We offer Mathematics Workshops to support you on our range of accredited courses.
