Your journey to employment

We work closely with employers to offer professional placements and opportunities on many of our courses, giving you hands-on experience of the world of work. You'll be able to access support throughout your placements and studies at Bradford College.

What's in it for you?

Getting a work experience placement means you’ll have the knowledge, skills and attitude you need to be ready for employment. It’s not just learning in a classroom. You’ll find out if this is the career for you, and how you can take what you’ve learned back to your college studies.

You’ll also be much better placed to get a job you really want, or to progress onto your chosen Higher Education course.

  • Iqra Rashid, a Level 3 Extended Diploma student, completed her nursery placement at Childsplay Neighbourhood Nursery in Autumn 2017. She obtained a full-time position with them in January 2018.
  • Kristal Illingworth, a Level 1 Applied Science student, completed a work placement with Robert Town Care Home and has now been offered a part time role with hours to suit around her studies.

Student feedback

I have now completed my work experience at the Ring O’Bells [pub] ... thank you for organising this placement. It has been absolutely amazing. I’ve learned loads and have really been pushed out of my comfort zone at times (but with the safety net of the staff behind me!) so it has been an invaluable opportunity. It’s been massively helpful in developing my knowledge and skills across the board but especially with patisserie as this is not included on my course. I loved the placement right from the start and I am delighted to say that they have offered me a job.
