Community, Distance Learning and Forster College have joined forces with the DWP and Bradford Councils Skills House to help get local people who have lost their jobs during the coronavirus pandemic back into work.
We offer an exciting selection of short free courses supported by local job centres, leading to accredited qualifications. We teach skills that are valuable to local employers and help you back into work. Our teachers use a wide range of well-planned teaching, learning and assessment activities to help you achieve your best.
Our specialist adult education and IT Centre (ALC) based in City Park in Bradford City Centre offers a friendly, safe and comfortable environment in which to study, gain confidence and meet new people.
Your course is free if you are aged 19 years and over (before 31st August 2020) and receive Universal Credit (UC), Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) or Employment & Support Allowance (ESA). Or earn under £17005.50 and are looking to upskill for promotion
An in-depth interview and assessment will be conducted to ascertain your level so we can plan your individualised pathway.
Any adult living in a Bradford Postcode can join short our Prep4Work courses which prepare you to join SWAPs and Kickstart SWAPs which are supported by employers. Our Prep4Work courses usually last up to six weeks. SWAPs include digital, health and social care, engineering and logistics, Hospitality, Cleaning and Office-Admin with a guaranteed interview for everyone who completes the course.
