As a private candidate you may be studying completely independently, you may be having some instruction privately or by correspondence course, or be in some other situation.
We help where we can but it is your responsibility to see that all administrative and non-exam assessments (NEAs) requirements are met, as all courses differ in their requirements and between exam boards.
***NOTE: Unfortunately, due to the high volume of students we currently have, we will not be able to accept private candidates for Maths or English GCSE. We can only accept iGCSE English and Maths in January of each year.***
If you are a current Bradford College student looking to also take exams privately, please note you CANNOT be registered as an internal college student AND an external private candidate for the same exam board at the same centre in the same academic year. For example, all iGCSE exams we offer are through exam board Edexcel, so if you are studying a course at Bradford College which is certified by Edexcel (e.g. BTEC) you would not be able to also enter for private exams with Edexcel. You could still enter for private exams with other exam boards e.g. AQA.
Which exams can I take?
Please search our subjects to confirm exactly which exams Bradford College can offer you:
Please note we accept candidates for exams only. Non-exam assessments (NEAs) e.g. coursework/controlled assessment/practical assessments are carried forward only. If you did NEAs and it was the same specification Bradford College use, you can ‘carry forward’ your results. Please indicate this on your entry form, confirming the unit code.
Some iGCSE English exams require set texts, it is candidates' responsibility to bring these to their exams. These are available as free downloads on the Edexcel website.
