Bradford College School Leavers Course Guide now available

Ruth Peterson | October 31, 2019

A world of opportunity is ready to be explored through Bradford College’s 2020 School Leavers Course Guide.

The guide provides information and guidance for students on their education and employment journey, detailing the GCSEs, A levels, apprenticeships and vocational training courses offered for the 2020/21 academic year.

Completely different to school

The guide gives a glimpse into a learning experience different to staying on at school. With courses created to equip students with the skills for employers’ needs, the college offers the chance to learn and train in:

  • Arts and creative spaces
  • Science labs, workshops
  • Training rooms
  • Sports and gym facilities
  • Hair and beauty salons
  • Cafés
  • An on-site restaurant.

Opportunities for all

There are full-time courses available to people with GCSEs at all grades, enabling them to study further and gain additional academic or vocational qualifications or embark on work placement programmes.

Those who don’t have formal qualifications can study at Entry Level before progressing to courses at higher levels and achieve qualifications, with the potential for further study or move into employment.

Apprenticeships offer the chance to train with regional and national employers to gain work experience alongside their studies. This route enables progress from Level 2 qualifications for school leavers all the way to degree level.

Take inspiration from success stories

Wherever students see their futures, Bradford College will help make it possible. They could gain top A levels like Hope Lightowler, Emma Faulkner and Silas Biggin, who all went on to leading universities.

Those hoping to achieve in sport can take inspiration from Harris Akbar, former BTEC Sports Student and Team GB boxer with four championship gold medals to his name. The college’s enrichment activities enable students to showcase the skills they’ve developed alongside their studies, such as Jasmin Akter, who captained the England team at the Street Child Cricket World Cup.

Where will the journey take you?

The journey can even continue beyond Further Education onto Higher Education, offering subjects at HNC, HND, foundation degree, degree and postgraduate levels. Full-time students who progress onto a Higher Education course at the Centre could get a £500 loyalty bursary.

Open Event 16 November

The college is hosting a free Open Event at its David Hockney building in Great Horton Road on Saturday 16th November from 11am until 2pm.

The guide can be viewed at www.bradfordcollege.ac.uk/study/prospectus. A printed copy can be requested by emailing admissions@bradfordcollege.ac.uk or calling 01274 088 088. It is also available from college campus reception desks, community venues and local supermarkets.
