National Thank A Teacher Day 2020

Most people can name at least one inspirational teacher or member of staff who has made a huge difference in their lives.

On 20 May 2020, National Thank A Teacher Day celebrates teachers across the country – and now the campaign is asking students to say thank you to staff at Bradford College for their work, not only in these challenging times but all year round.

The Thank a Teacher campaign recognises ALL staff working in schools: tutors, team leaders, heads of service, managers and all support staff.

Dawn Leak, Vice Principal, said: “We have always been very proud of our staff but during recent times they have gone over and above expectations to make sure that teaching and learning has continued and all our students have been supported.

“It’s hard to express how grateful we are to every one of our staff but we hope that National Thank A Teacher Day gives people the opportunity to openly thank a special person.”

National Thank A Teacher Day is led by the Teaching Awards Trust, in partnership with the Department for Education and other education partners.

The Thank A Teacher website has a wealth of ideas and resources enabling people to say thank you to staff.

You can send a free Thank You e-card to a member of staff on the Thank A Teacher website, using its form. Each person thanked will receive a card with a personal message.

Using the #ThankATeacher and #ClassroomHeroes hashtags, anyone who would like to thank a tutor can also share their message of thanks via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook leading up to the day.
