Music students from Bradford College will use their end-of-year shows to help buy a headstone for teenager who drowned last year.
Leah Mellor and her fellow students on the Music, Performance and Production diploma will ask audiences at their two free gigs next week to make donations to the fund set up to pay for a gravestone for her friend Callum Dawson who drowned in June last year after going for a swim in the River Aire.
The students will be performing at Kala Sangam on May 15 and at Delius Arts Centre on May 16. The concerts will be a mix of solo and ensemble performances from pianists, jazz musicians, acoustic singer-songwriters, rappers, musical theatre artists, electronic producers and rock bands.
