College serves up a treat for Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal

The Lord Mayor of Bradford and guests at his charity dinner at Bradford College

More than £2,100 was raised for the Lord Mayor of Bradford’s Charity Appeal at a dinner hosted by Bradford College.

Catering and hospitality students prepared and served a sumptuous menu to the Lord Mayor, Councillor Abid Hussain, and his guests at the college’s award-winning Grove restaurant in the David Hockney Building on Great Horton Road.

Guests included the former Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe, Jo Quinton-Tulloch, director of the National Science and Media Museum, Richard Wightman, Chair of the Bradford College Corporation and Andy Welsh, Bradford College’s Chief Operating Officer.

Throughout his year in office the Lord Mayor will hold a series of events to raise money for his charity appeal.

The money raised will be split between two charities - the Bingley-based Down Syndrome Training and Support Services and the Wishing Well Appeal, which provides small grants for organisations and smaller groups.
