Staff from Bradford College raised at least £675 for the National Autistic Society after taking part in a Night Walk for Autism in Manchester on Saturday.

The team of five, headed by Lisa Dryden, Bradford College’s first learning support tutor for autistic spectrum conditions, were among hundreds of fundraisers taking part in sponsored walks in Manchester, Bristol and London.

The Bradford College team had set themselves the target to raise £500 but raised £675 in online donations on completing the walk at the weekend with more money still to be counted.

Joining Lisa on the 5km trek through the city centre was Estelle French, Jodie Morrow, Jenna Gill and Leanne Mackie.

The fundraiser was a key event in the college’s support of World Autism Awareness Week, which was the week beginning March 27. Other events included a bake sale, information stall and performance by an autism drama group.
