SEND and Additional Learning support

Need help and support for your studies?

We have a team dedicated to supporting students with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) to enable you to achieve study goals and prepare for employment.

This includes support for:

  • Autism or Asperger’s syndrome
  • Medical conditions
  • Physical disabilities
  • Deaf or hearing loss
  • Blind or partially sighted 
  • Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia
  • Temporary disabilities

We offer a range of support to best suit the needs for individual student, including:

  • Assessment of learning needs
  • One-to-one study skills support sessions
  • Guidance to improve study skills
  • Special arrangements for exams such as a scribe, reader or extra time
  • Learning support workers to help in classes
  • Communication Support Workers and BSL interpreters
  • Adapted documents and materials, for example in large print or braille
  • Access to assistive technology
