Bradford College recognises the many benefits of cycling. Riding a bike is a great mode of transport for getting from A to B as not only is it environmentally-friendly, it’s great for improving physical fitness, and has a positive impact on mental health by reducing stress and worry and that’s why we support those who cycle to College by providing:
- safe and secure bicycle storage.
- lockers to store equipment.
- showers / changing facilities.
- a drying cabinet (coming Summer 2018).
- and public bike pump (coming Summer 2018).
Some of our staff cyclists have also volunteered to manage our [email protected] inbox - so if you’ve got any questions, need some advice or want to organise a social cycle event, get in touch.
Bikes and accessories
For staff we’re able to offer great schemes to help them via Cycle-re-cycle a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation working out of the College’s Garden Mills building on Westholme Street (just off Thornton Road), Bradford BD1 2EP.
They sell low-cost recycled bicycles, parts and accessories starting from £20 for children’s bikes and £30 upwards for adult bikes. They also service and repair bicycles, and welcome donations of old bikes for refurbishing and re-selling. Cycle-re-cycle is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 12.00pm — 5.30pm. Alternatively you can make an appointment to visit Cycle-re-cycle outside of these hours by calling or texting 07835 840 989.
