For the last few years, Bradford College has hosted an innovative exhibition put on by the Anne Frank Trust UK, and supported by Bradford Council and Bradford schools. This year the exhibition was at the College in April and May. Contact the Anne Frank Trust for a list of forthcoming venues.
The Anne Frank + You exhibition provides a fresh insight into Anne’s life: there are images and artefacts about Anne and her family, and information about the times she lived in. Importantly, the exhibition also looks at current conflicts and injustices, and it challenges visitors to reflect on whether we are getting things right today.
Many schools come to see the exhibition, and other visitors, including students and staff from Bradford College. Young people can volunteer to be Ambassadors, showing school groups and visitors round the exhibition, and this is a very effective way of helping people understand and reflect on the exhibition.
One of the young Ambassadors says:
“It’s a small thing, me presenting the exhibition, but I hope it has a tidal effect.”
Andy Welsh, Group Chief Executive of the Bradford College “We are very proud of the efforts of everyone involved in this important exhibition, especially the young ambassadors. We hope the College will continue to be a place where bridges can be built between the past and present, and between different communities and generations.”
