One-day short courses in textiles

Introduction to Passementerie Weaving

Tuesday 12 June, 10am – 4pm. Tutor: Hannah Robson

Passementerie is the term for narrow width textiles like trimmings, braids, trimmings and tassels. The workshop will focus on weaving narrow decorative pieces, including an introduction to the basic principles of weaving and how to operate a hand-loom. You will be taught a range of weave structures and given time to experiment with ideas and materials.

No previous experience required.

Introduction to Textile Screen Printing

Tuesday 19 June, 10am – 4pm. Tutor: Rosamund Hanny

This introduction to the textile screen printing process includes printing with paper stencils and exposing a screen. You will create and take away a series of experimental printed textile samples.

No previous experience necessary.
