The hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector is one of the UK's largest employers. The sector employs in the region of two million people accounting for 1 in 14 UK jobs, according to People 1st Sector Skills Council (2009).
We aim to provide an exciting overview of the industry and inspire you to develop your own professionalism and Independence.
This two year, part-time route is Stage Three of the degree course. To study on this course you must have completed Stage 1 and Stage 2.
During the course, there may be opportunities to gain additional qualifications.
Trips, visits and a residential are considered a necessary part of the course.
You will study: Operational Procedures in Hospitality and Travel, Innovation in Hospitality and Travel, Research Methods, Human Resource Development, Dissertation and an industry specific Optional module.
A wide range of methods and delivery styles are used including:

A variety of assessment methods will be used including: assignments, case studies, presentations and examinations. You will work closely with employers to produce a project as part of the Work-based Learning Module.

You will be able to visit conferences and employer forums providing you with an opportunity to network with employers in the industry.
The hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism sector is forecast to increase employment, with a growth forecast of 10 % (208,000 additional jobs) by 2017.
96% of Hospitality and Travel graduates progress either straight into employment or onto further study.

Many of our graduates have gone on to work as chefs in prestigious restaurants both in the UK and abroad.
There will be an optional residential visit which you will be required to fund. The cost can vary depending on the location but is usually in the region of £650.
Recent residentials have included New York, Dubai, Cruise of the UK and an outward bound course.
Successful completion of a Foundation degree, or equivalent with GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4-5 or above, or equivalent.
