Course Overview

This challenging and comprehensive course will fully prepare you to take the ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians) Contact Lens Anatomy, Visual Optics Theoretical Examination and Contact Lens Practice Examination.

 

 

Course Structure

You will study the course by attending College on one day per week for 34 weeks.

Modules Covered:

  • Contact Lens Practice
  • Contact Lens Anatomy
  • Contact Lens Visual Optics
  • Contact Lens Practical Workshop.

 

Learning Methods

Learning methods include research, independent study and use of the college VLE - Moodle.

 

Teaching Methods

Teaching methods include lectures, practicals and workshop activities

Assessment

This course prepares you to take the ABDO Contact Lens examinations.

You will be required to take both the theory and the practical examinations set by ABDO at Aston University in Birmingham or in London.

Entry Requirements

You need to be a qualified Dispensing Optician and be FBDO and GOC registered.
