The curriculum of BA (Hons) Business Management is designed to produce highly qualified, employment ready graduates who are able to play leading roles in a wide range of business management related careers.
You will develop skills that are directly relevant to your chosen sector.
This two year, part-time route is Stage Three of the degree course. To study on this course you must have completed a HND or equivalent qualification.
You will focus on Core Modules, in order to give you a broad overview and an idea of the pathway in which you want to specialise.
Fixed Modules for the part-time top-up route are:
- Strategic Management
- Business Ethics
- Developing People in Organisations
- Marketing Management.
Throughout the progression of the course, you will be expected to take increasing levels of responsibility for your own academic progression. This allows you to maximise your academic potential, as well as preparing yourself for future employment. This said, we aim to provide a consistent support network to enable you to develop your learning potential. In short, you are expected to take responsibility for aspects of your learning, and we aim to take responsibility for facilitating this.
In addition, online resources such as Moodle and Skype will allow you to access tutors for correspondence, particularly during your Dissertation module.
A variety of teaching and learning methods have been integrated throughout the programme with an overall emphasis on active student participation. These include:

Teaching is primarily based on research literature, professional experience and significant use of debate and discussion.
You will be assessed with a range of formative and summative assignments, in order to ensure that your learning development is structured and consistent.
You will be assessed through a variety of academic tasks, including coursework assignments, case studies, presentations and research reports.
To enter this part-time top-up programme, you must be qualified in Business to HND level.
Non-standard applications will be required to produce evidence of their ability to study at Higher Education level. Short-course and relevant work experience may be taken into account; you will also be expected to attend an interview, and possibly to complete a piece of written work as part of your application.
International students are additionally required to achieve a specified level on IELTS or equivalent.
