Overview
This Level 3 diploma is suitable for those wanting to enter the fitness industry, with a full package of courses aimed at developing a broad range of skills and abilities.
This is the first stage on the exciting new technical qualification route, which includes excellent employment opportunities through recognised industry awards, high levels of expertise, industry links and work experience, as well as UCAS points at the end of the Level 3 year.

Entry to this course requires a Level 2 Diploma in Physical Activity, Fitness, and Exercise Science. You should have a professional, mature attitude with a good level of personal fitness.
English and/or Maths will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.
You will be required to purchase a uniform as part of the course, which is compulsory, and must be worn on all attendance days. You will also need kit for practical activities in the gym/sports hall, as well as paper, pens, folders, and other relevant stationery, which needs to be brought to all lessons.
You will be assessed in a number of ways:
- Coursework
- Multiple Choice Exams
- Portfolios of Evidence
- Practical Demonstration
- Assignments
Successful completion of this course can lead to progression to employment as a personal trainer or group exercise instructor, or onto specialist Level 4 courses. There is also the opportunity to progress to study at a Higher Education level through UCAS points.
Fees
If you are 16 to 18 years old you won't have to pay tuition fees. If you're 19 or older you may need to pay a fee.
