The course is an exciting pathway into the world of music production. You will learn how to create and produce your own music from start to finish, developing skills in recording, mixing, mastering and production. You will use cutting edge technology to create visual and audio performances that immerse the audience and develop experience in the recording studio, enabling you to produce high-quality recordings. The course is ideal for any budding music producers, studio engineers, live sound operators, film/tv sound recordists and sound designers for games but also enables students with opportunities to perform live as well. The course will provide you with the skills to start your career in the music industry, whilst developing your confidence in music and audio production.
As a student, you will work through a variety of music projects that will develop your knowledge and skills in a range of practice areas. This culminates in a final project of your choice, where you will be able to hone your specialist skills to create a unique and exciting final product.
You will develop music production, sequencing, composition, theory, technical production, live sound production, recording and mixing skills.
Previous students have successfully produced and marketed EPs, created immersive audio and visual environments, performed to an audience incorporating live technology, planned, promoted and presented live events, created sound and music for games and films and lots of other exciting projects.
You will have the opportunity to take part in trips to Italy, London and professional studios and gain experience in professional environments working to produce showcases and performances. A
longside tuition from your professional music tutors, you will have one to one music production sessions to hone your production skills. There will also be many opportunities to engage with guest lecturers working in the professional music industry.

Entry to this course requires 4 GCSEs at a minimum of Grade C/4 or above, including English and Mathematics and one in a Music, Performance and Production related subject or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject.
You should be aged 16+.
English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C/9-4 in these subjects when you commence your course.
You will be assessed through ongoing course work of each project and then for each final project, you will be graded on the overall process of this project.
Successful completion of the course leads to the opportunity to progress to our FdA Music for the Creative Industries. Students can progress on to further study with a degree in Music Production or professional employment in a range of audio and music roles. Careers in Music Production include Music Producer, Music Composer, Sound Designer, Audio Designer, Audio Developer, Audio Engineer, Youtube Influencer and Live Sound Engineer.
Fees: If you are 16 to 18 years old you won't have to pay tuition fees. If you're 19 or older you may need to pay a fee.
