This course will draw on key elements of computing in order to put you on to the right path to your ideal career. Learn about topics such as programming, security, website design and development and software development. As well as understanding essential information, you will develop hands-on and practical knowledge that will fast track you into further study and career opportunities in this area. For the HND, two core units ? one core, 15-credit, unit at Level 4 and one core, 30-credit unit at Level 5 ? will be assessed by a mandatory Pearson-set assignment targeted at particular skills. All other units are assessed by centre-devised internal assignments.
Although this course does not directly offer work experience, there are opportunities for you to undertake a work placement or work experience during your time studying on this course. Additionally, Employability skills such as team working and entrepreneurialism as well as practical hands-on skills have been built into the design of the learning aims and content. This gives you the opportunity to use relevant contexts, scenarios and materials to enable students to develop a portfolio of evidence demonstrating the breadth of their skills and knowledge in a way that equips them for employment.
