Overview
This course is ideal for people looking to move into engineering or architectural design and build the foundation for developing their skills as a digital construction professional or digital engineer. Modern industry expects that you will have fantastic I.T skills – as well as good hand skills – and this bridging course has proved very effective in enabling in-work progression and helping people change careers.
(2.5 hours – one night per week).

Our course will equip candidates with an understanding of the CAD Modelling environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings. It will explore the typical composition of a CAD Parametric Modelling system and we will help you develop the knowledge and skills to create sketches,work features, table driven parts and assemblies, understanding constraints and being able to create a drawing layout.
This is the final course, in a 2 part scheme to get you from a beginner to the level of CAD master. Students new to CAD should begin with the Level 3, 2D modelling course before progressing to this.
There are no formal entrance requirements, but it is critical in putting the right person on the right course – and ensuring that you being on the right path to achieve your career goals that you have a conversation with Mark Spiers – our warm and welcoming professional teacher. Production of CAD work (projects) and short answer papers. You will be fully prepared to take part in all assessment opportunities.
Dependent on your other professional qualifications – you may be interested in Higher Education at Bradford College – either in Professional Construction/Architecture or Professional Engineering Design. Potential careers from this qualification can include: Architecture, BIM Architect, Engineer and Professional Construction.
This course is a Skills Guarantee course and therefore free for adults depending on salary and prior academic attainment.
