Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to learn and train in your chosen career as well as earning a regular pay packet. You will be given first-hand experience and learn the majority of the skills needed on the job, whilst also completing off-the-job training.
Heavy vehicle mechanic apprentices service and repair large vehicles such as lorries, trucks and agricultural vehicles. Apprentices are trained in all aspects of heavy vehicle mechanics and electronics such as engine and exhaust systems, air conditioning and security systems.
- Servicing vehicles
- Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
- Maintaining repair and service records.
You will be required to study on a day release basis.
GCSE Mathematics and English at a minimum of Grade C or Level 1 on the Literacy and Numeracy BKSB screening.
English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.
Apprenticeship Course Fees will be paid by your employer.
