Overview
Our Health and Social Care Level 2 Diploma is a popular, practical, work-related course where you learn by completing projects and assignments. You will also undertake a work experience placement one day per week. Placements can be anywhere in the Bradford district and you need to be prepared to travel to experience a range of health care settings.

The course incorporates Maths, English, Health, Safety and Wellbeing and a work placement. You will study a variety of units to prepare you for working in the Adult Social Care sector.
These could include:
- Equality and Inclusion
- Safeguarding
- The Role of the Health and Social Care Worker
- Person-centred Approaches
- Dementia Awareness
- Supporting People to Eat and Drink
Entry to this course requires GCSE English and Maths at a grade 3 or D or above, as well as one other GCSE.
You should be at least 16 years old.
A satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and interview are required.
English and/or Maths will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.

Each unit is assessed through a unit assignment or placement observation. Tasks within these assignments vary and you will be assessed using methods such as: written work, posters, verbal questioning and role play.
You will also undertake a work experience placement one day per week. Placements can be anywhere in the Bradford district and you need to be prepared to travel to experience a range of health care settings.
Successful completion of the course may lead to progression onto the Level 2 Extended Diploma or Level 3 Technical Diploma in Health and Social Care dependent upon GCSE qualifications.
If you are 16 to 18 years old you won't have to pay tuition fees. If you're 19 or older you may need to pay a fee.
