Overview
This is a 2 day top up course for people working in the automotive industry.
Bradford College’s Automotive department currently offer the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Operation and Maintenance. Future developments will include the Level 3 Award in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair and Replacement.
The Level 2 Award is for those who need to know more about the safety precautions to be taken when on or near a high voltage hybrid. Therefore, this applies not only to Automotive Technicians but also to recovery agents, emergency service staff, MOT testers and anyone carrying out their own service work.
Candidates must already be engaging in the motor vehicle industry through employment.

This course is delivered over two days with a written assessment on day two. On successful completion of this course you will receive a City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate.
The course will be broken down into 3 learning outcomes which is broken down further into specific assessment criteria: Learning outcome 1 – Know hybrid system components and operation. Learning outcome 2 – Know how to work safely on hybrid and related vehicle systems. Learning outcome 3 – Know how to carry out maintenance and repair activities when working on Hybrid Vehicles.
Delivery will take the form of both practical and classroom based learning. A course tutor will be present at all times to guide candidates as they progress with the course
As a result of completing this Level 2 course, you will have gained the essential knowledge to progress to the Level 3 Award in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair and Replacement.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Successful completion of this course can lead to progression to further study and employment in the Engineering sector in a role related to Vehicle Maintenance.
If you are 16 to 18 years old you won't have to pay tuition fees. If you're 19 or older you may need to pay a fee.
