Overview
Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to learn and train in your chosen career as well as earning a regular pay packet. You will be given first-hand experience and learn the majority of the skills needed on the job, whilst also completing off-the-job training within college by day release.
This apprenticeship is ideal for anyone who is thinking of working within the construction industry as a plasterer. It covers a broad range of skills which are put to use on a range of sites, from large building sites to private houses. You develop a range of plastering skills including preparing surfaces for plaster, and working with fibrous plaster to create solid internal and external finishes.
Key Info
Typical tasks:
- Working at heights
- Measuring, cutting and fixing of internal plaster board
- Skimming plaster
- Applying wet finishes to surfaces such as pebble dashing and rendering
You will be required to study on a day release basis.
GCSE English and Mathematics at a minimum of Grade C/4 or Entry 3 on the Literacy and Numeracy BKSB.
English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.
