  Overview

This Level 1 diploma qualification enables you to learn and develop practical skills required to complete common tasks in plumbing. It is practical based with classroom theory sessions, so while you learn the key information you will also to put your skills into practise. Studying in our excellent facilities means that you are prepared for your next steps, whether you move onto further study or employment.

Attendance for this course is two evenings per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or all day Friday for 36 weeks.

Please note that you will be required to wear safety boots with steel toe caps and hi-vis vest when working in the College workshops.

The course is assessed by continuous practical assessments with written knowledge questioning for each unit.

Your course may include work experience or a work placement that could lead to the offer of a part-time or casual work, or you might work outside of your studies. Our students benefit from local site visits and trips to construction companies, such as our award-winning local partner Priestley Construction.

After successful completion of the course, you will be prepared to move into further study or employment in plumbing and construction. Dependent upon experience, a plumber has the potential to earn anywhere between £12K and £40K per year, so the time to train in plumbing has never been better.

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken.
