Overview
This GSCE is available in Pathway 1, 2 and 3.
GCSE Mathematics is taught on the 5th floor of the David Hockney Building with classes during the morning, afternoon or evening. We offer flexible attendance times to fit in with your timetable.
You will need to attend one class per week lasting 2.5-3 hours.
Our success rates are consistently above the national benchmarks.

You will study topics covering the national curriculum and will sit the AQA linear examination. You will develop skills in
- Handling Data
- Numbers and Algebra
- Space, Shape and Measures
- How to use a Scientific Calculator
You will learn through taught classes, assignments and homework.
You will be required to pass an initial assessment at the start of the course.
It is a national requirement for all students aged 16-18 studying an educational course to continue to study maths and/or English if a GCSE Grade 4 (A*-C) has not already been achieved, you do not need to apply separately for this as it will be included in your main programme of study.
Please note that you will need:
- A Mathematics textbook (your tutor will give you advice on which to buy)
- A scientific calculator (your tutor will give you advice on which to buy)
- Ruler, protractor and compass.

- Examinations
Successful completion of this course can lead to progression to further study or employment. GCSE Mathematics is a core qualification for entry to Higher Education and employment.
If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken.
