Course Overview

The Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy qualification will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to be able to provide sports massage therapy to a range of clients.

The aim of the qualification is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to provide sports massage therapy to a range of clients who have dysfunctional tissue, without acute/post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions.

On successful completion of the course, you will be able to progress to a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training or other additional qualifications such as Circuit Instructing or Kettlebells.

Course Structure

The course starts in November and will be completed through a combination of online learning through the College’s virtual learning environment, independent study guided by your tutor, and tutor led sessions in College where attendance is required. You will also be required to attend College for exams and practical assessments. You will also have to attend session with the netball teams based at Trinity Green on a Saturday to gain experience providing pre/post event massage

All written work will be submitted to your tutor electronically and they will be available to help you at all points throughout the course.

A full timetable of attendance, deadlines, and assessments will be provided on enrolment.

You will study:

Unit 1: Anatomy and Physiology

Unit 2: Principles of Fitness

Unit 3: Understanding the Principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction

Unit 4: Professional Practice in Sports Massage

Unit 5: Sports Massage Treatments.

 

Entry Requirements

GCSE English and Mathematics at a minimum of Grade D/3.
