Course Overview

The NCFE Level 2 Diploma in sport offers you a range of opportunities to study and gain an overview of the different academic facets of sport. During your programme of study, you will complete both English and mathematics, a work experience placement and the Sports Leaders’ (Community Sports Leaders’) Award in Sport and Active Leisure. You will also undertake a National Citizenship Course (run through NCS - National Citizenship Service) that links to your programme of study.

Course Structure

You will study the following units:

  • Participating in Sport
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Healthy Exercise and Nutrition
  • Skills and Tactical Awareness
  • Planning, Delivering and Evaluating Sports Activities.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at a minimum of Grade D/3 preferably including English and Mathematics.

English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.

Benefits

Possible progression from this course is three fold: you can progress onto a more academic course (the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Sport) where the focus and goal will be Higher Education, continue on a more vocational route (the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Sport) or enter employment within the sporting environment.

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our team.
