Course Overview

These qualifications provide a full-time introduction to Performing Arts that develops an understanding of Performing Arts as a collaborative activity.

The Level 2 Award/Diploma qualifications will provide  you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training for a range of performing and production arts subjects, including acting, singing, dancing, musical theatre, lighting design, prop design, stage management, directing and others.

Over the course you will be introduced to a range of activities essential to the development and delivery of a performance such as drama, dance and music, the process of rehearsal, production and delivery.

Successful completion of the course leads to a UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts.

 

 

Course Structure

You will have the opportunity to research the history and context of performance and production and its value in informing practice.

There is also an opportunity to take greater responsibility in the management of an assignment of personal interest, via the final major project, and prepare for progression within a chosen discipline. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the production of a staged piece of performance to an audience.

On successful completion of the course at Diploma level you will be in a position to progress to a Level 3 Extended Diploma course or you may progress directly into employment roles in the creative industries.

 

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at a minimum of Grade D/3 including English and Mathematics and a successful audition.

You should be aged 16-18.

English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course.

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our FE Registry team.
