Course Overview

Accredited by The University of Arts London this 1 year foundation diploma is an introductory, bridging course that supports the transition from secondary education to specialist art and design education.

The course content develops skill, knowledge and understanding within Fine Art, Graphic Design, Fashion & Textiles Design, Interior Design, 3D Design and Photography. The final major project at the end of the year allows you to specialise in one of the areas to enable progression to Higher Education study of your chosen discipline.

This qualification is designed for students who want to study art and design full-time and develop the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding through a variety of art and design disciplines to enable progression to Higher Education study of their chosen discipline.

A Major Project at the end of the year allows for specialisation within the disciplines to allow for more in depth knowledge and sophisticated understanding of a specific area.

Taking responsibility for research, planning and time management will enable you to become a more independent learner, a key requirement in Higher Education, and will support you in developing your portfolio on your chosen discipline for progression to degree level study and selection of work for the End of Year Show.
