Course Overview

This course gives you an understanding of child and young person and adult development. Learners will also develop knowledge in children, young people and adult health and wellbeing through creative, exciting and practical opportunities to develop caring skills, through use of interactive babies, demonstrations and creative activities.
 

Course Structure

As part of the course learners will develop their personal development skills, including working with others, communication, study skills employability skills. They will also study English and Maths and have a personal tutor who will support them throughout the course. 
 
The course is highly personalised and learning activities are designed to enable each student to work towards individualised targets that are meaningful and in keeping with their goals and aspirations. 
 
  • Develop work-related skills relevant to the physical and emotional needs of young children and adults.
  • Learn about dietary, exercise health and safety and emotional needs of children and adults.
  • Learn about development from birth to old age and the role of the practitioner.

30 hours of relevant experience of work are included in the course.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course.

English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course.
