Course Overview

If you are a non-qualified Pharmacy or Dispensing Assistant working in a pharmacy environment, this is the ideal course for you. To get the most out of this qualification, you will need to enjoy all aspects of pharmacy work - working and communicating with people, meeting clients' needs and working within a caring profession.

The qualification involves you completing work-based assessments and building a portfolio of evidence in an e-portfolio. You will complete this course alongside the Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science and the Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills to gain the practical aspects and underpinning knowledge required.

These are the requirements of the Pharmacy Regulator.

The course is offered via distance learning and start dates can be arranged to suit your individual needs.

Course Structure

Distance learning electronic workbooks will be used for the for knowledge qualification (Pharmaceutical Science).

You will be required to produce an individual e-portfolio to collect evidence of workplace activities.

Personal study time is approximately 4-6 hours per week.

 

Entry Requirements

GCSE or equivalent Mathematics and English at Grade A*-E (or New GCSE Grades 9-2) or Entry 3 on the Literacy and Numeracy BKSB screening.

You must be working for a UK registered pharmacist in a pharmacy to undertake this course.

This is a requirement of the Pharmacy Regulator.

You will be required to have a PC with access to the internet in the workplace.

Course Fees

Apprenticeship Course Fees will be paid by your employer.

How You Will Be Assessed

Assessment is carried out in the workplace with no requirement to attend college.
