Course Overview

This Certificate qualifies you to be an assessor for NVQ and other competence-based courses. You are only eligible to do this course, if you assess candidates in their workplace as well as at a training centre.

The award is for practitioners who assess the achievement of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation, examining work products, oral questioning and discussion, use of others (eg witnesses), learner statements and prior learning.

 

Course Structure

This is a 15 credit and 84 guided learning hour qualification consisting of three mandatory units:

Unit 1 - Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment

Unit 2 - Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

Unit 3 - Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding.

 

Entry Requirements

Registered Pharmacy or Dental professional with two students you can assess who are on a BTEC, NVQ or similar award, each with a minimum of 2 units.

How Will I Learn?

You will receive a half-day induction in the workplace and then use online learning to achieve the qualification. You will be visited in your workplace in order to observe your practice. The qualification can be done at your own pace but we would aim for you to complete it within twelve months.

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our team.
