Course Overview

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) will prepare you to become an Early Years Educator, enabling you to work with children from birth to five years and gain knowledge of children aged five to seven years. The course will run at Forster College - part of Bradford College.

 Forster College have designed courses and services to work with people who need to address and overcome barriers to engage with education, training or employment.

 

 

 

Course Structure

The qualification covers four themes:

 

Theme 1: Health and well-being

Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks  and professional practice

Theme 3: Play, development and  learning for school readiness

Theme 4: Professional development.

 

 

Placements are required for achievement of this qualification.

 

A minimum of 350 placement hours is required. During the placement you will need support from a professional within the real work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.

To gain this qualification you will need to:

  • Pass all units
  • Complete longitudinal study
  • Show competence in a real work environment.

 

 

 

 

Entry Requirements

 

You will need to have Grade A-C/9-4 in maths and English, or Level 2 equivalent. If you do not already have these, we may be able to enrol you to complete the qualifications alongside the Diploma.

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our team.
