Course Overview

This course offers an introductory level qualification for those wishing to develop a career in accounting.  It provides students with the basic skills to begin using computerised accounting and spreadsheet software. The course offers a range of progression opportunities, from studying manual bookkeeping at Level 1 to further study of computerised accounting at Level 2. 


Course Structure

Over the 18 weeks of the course you will learn how to use a computer package to record business transactions and see how spreadsheets can be used as a tool for providing accounting information.

Entry Requirements

Although there are no formal entry requirements, you will need a good standard of English to be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. You will have to complete a short assessment prior to enrolment in order to demonstrate that you have the Literacy and Numeracy skills needed to succeed.


Successful completion of the course offers progression to the full AAT Accounting qualification at Level 2.

How You Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed through two computer based projects; one on computerised accounting and the other on spreadsheets.

Tuition Fees

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our FE Registry team.
