Course Overview

This Level 2 course allows you to develop and practise the basic skills and knowledge gained from Level 1 required for employment and/or career progression in Bricklaying.

Course Structure

The course covers the following:

  • Interpreting Working Drawings to Set Out Masonry Structures
  • Producing Thin Joint Masonry and Masonry Cladding
  • Building Solid Walling, Isolated and Attached Piers
  • Construct Cavity Walling Forming Masonry Structures.

You will also continue to develop and study principles of building construction, information and communication.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying. Previous experience in the trade will also be considered by attending an interview.


How You Will Be Assessed

The course is assessed by continuous practical assessments, knowledge based assessments for each unit and an online exam.

Things You May Need

You will be required to wear safety boots with steel toe caps and hi-vis vest when working in the College workshops.

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our FE Registry team.
