Course Overview

The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is ideal if you aspire to a career as an employed and/or self-employed Beauty Therapist.

The qualification is based on the beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and includes all the elements required for you to work effectively as a Beauty Therapist.

Course Structure

Throughout the qualification, you will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to successfully consult with clients, promote and retail products, provide a range of beauty treatments.

Mandatory Units include:

  • Health and Safety in the Salon
  • Client Care and Consultation
  • Body Analysis
  • Skin Analysis
  • Swedish Massage Therapy
  • Body Electrical Treatment
  • Facial Electrical Treatment
  • Electrical Science
  • Mechanical Massage
  • Anatomy and Physiology for the Face and Body Systems.

You will be required to attend some twilight and evening sessions.

 

 

 

Entry Requirements

A Level 2 qualification, or equivalent, in Beauty Therapy.

 

English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course.

Benefits

On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to become a member of the British Association of beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).

As a Beauty Therapist you could progress directly into employment in a variety of contexts including:

  • Independent/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings
  • Health farms
  • Cruise liners
  • Care homes
  • Airlines
  • Hotel chains.

Things You May Need

You will be required to purchase and wear a uniform and buy some equipment such as make-up and brushes. All the necessary uniform can be purchased from the Department throughout July, August and September.

Tuition Fees

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our FE Registry team.
