Course Overview

This qualification aims to provide professional development opportunities for practitioner’s working in schools and colleges.

The qualification will embrace your wealth of experience, proven knowledge and skills in both daily practice and theoretical understanding.

 

 

Course Structure

This course has been developed to incorporate blended learning.

You will be required to attend college approximately one day per month and will be expected to complete work independently.

Entry Requirements

You should have GCSE English and mathematics at a minimum of Grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills English and mathematics.

You must be at least 18 years and be employed in a suitable role within a school or college.

A previous Level 3 qualification is an advantage however a wealth of experience is a requirement for the Continuous Professional Development qualification.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.

English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course.

Skills You Will Develop

You will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection.

Benefits

On completion, you will be equipped as an Advanced Practitioner to use crucial leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities in the school or college workforce.

You may progress within the workforce in the following job roles and responsibilities:

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

Alternatively, you may also progress to a Higher Education course.

Tuition Fees

If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken. Actual costs can be obtained from our FE Registry team.
