Overview
This course is for those aged 16-18.
If you are aged 16-18, have moved to the UK from another country and would like to continue your education in Britain then ESOL 16-18 is the perfect course for you.
This is a full-time, comprehensive, language-based programme designed to help with the transition between studying in your home language and studying in Britain. Alongside English, which is taught from Beginner level to Advanced level (Level 1), you will be able to study Mathematics (Functional Skills, GCSE or A level), IT and a variety of additional subjects all of which have English specialist support. This course is for speakers of languages other than English who are aged 16-18. You may join this course with any level of English from Beginner to Advanced Level 1. You will be given an English Language assessment to establish your level.
Key Info
You will spend approximately 16 hours per week in College. You will study for an ESOL qualification as well as an additional qualification in LIFE skills or Personal and Vocational Development (Foundation Learning) which will offer you a variety of subjects from Science, Social Science, Business and IT, to Citizenship, Study Skills and Personal Learning. You will have a Personal Tutor who will look after your needs and you will take part in an exciting programme of enrichment activities.

- Presentation skills
- Organisational skills
We will support you with taught sessions, group and individual projects, study-related workshops, enrichment activities and tutorials. You may also have the opportunity to go on field trips during your time in study.
You will also:
- Use PC and software packages for the internet
- Work closely with Connexions and the Bradford Centre for Academic Studies
This course is for speakers of languages other than English who are aged 16-18. You may join this course with any level of English from Beginner to Advanced Level 1.
You will be given an English Language assessment to establish your level.
English and/or Maths will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.

English is an essential skill needed to study and work, completion of this course will give you the confidence to use English in everyday life.
Fees
If you are 16 to 18 years old you won't have to pay tuition fees.
