Bradford College are proud providers of the City & Guilds MOT Nominated Tester, MOT Centre Managers and annual Continuous Professional Development) CPD qualifications. Our highly skilled and experienced team provide some of the very best training available today.

To become an MOT Tester, you must meet the entry requirements criteria.

What you'll study

This course is delivered over five days and includes theory, examination and practical assessment within the Centre with the final day being the practical training and assessment.

Once completed, the final assessment will be carried out at your place of work by the Ministry of Transport in your registered Testing Centre.

Entry requirements

You need to have an accepted relevant Level 3 qualification.

You need to be a skilled mechanic with at least four years of full-time employment working on the types of vehicles you want to test, evidenced by a CV and references from your employer.

You should hold a current UK driving licence for the class of vehicle you wish to test.

You should have no unspent convictions for criminal offences in connection with MOT testing or the motor trade, or involving acts of violence or intimidation.

You must be of ‘good repute’ – The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will decide this to make sure you are suitable to be an MOT tester.

If you have answered yes to all of the above, you should complete an enrolment form and provide photographic identification and evidence of your Level 3 qualification.
