This qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including young people needing to develop life skills as well as those who are thinking of working in childcare. It is also suitable for parents who wish to develop parenting skills, mature learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language.
The course runs for 2 hours a week.
You will cover a variety of topics such as Healthy Eating for Families, Musical activities for young children, sharing learning experiences with young children, science activities for young children, healthy living, preparing for your next steps and many more.
We use a variety of teaching and learning methods. Learners are able to submit work in a variety of ways to suit individual needs which include computer work, leaflets, mind maps, set of cards, charts, verbal feedback e.g. audio tape, lists, video tape, collage, tables, displays, booklets, bullet points, posters, diagrams, drawings etc.
You will participate in various practical activities and make resources to support children’s learning. The course will be taught very informally by an experienced childcare tutor. You will learn in a relaxed and supported atmosphere with lots of support and encouragement.

Entry level 3 in English.
If you are 16 to 18 years old you won't have to pay tuition fees.
