Need a recap on the Periodontal Classification? The pandemic has meant we have had to prioritise urgent dental treatment, with periodontal disease still present but deemed less urgent.

We must not forget the importance of managing periodontal disease. Fancy a recap?

Aim: Following the 2017 World Workshop in Periodontology, this course aims to refresh knowledge on periodontal screening and outline how the Periodontal Classification is implemented in a Dental setting.

Objectives:

– Review Periodontal screening

– Consider how the Periodontal Classification can be implemented in Dental practice.

– Practice Periodontal Classification using Case Studies and discuss treatment options relating

Aim: Increase your confidence for recognising when to raise a concern. Recognise signs and symptoms of abuse, neglect and radicalisation and identifying when to raise a concern.

Objectives:

– Understanding the important of safeguarding, roles and responsibilities of the Dental team.

– Recognise signs and symptoms of abuse, neglect and radicalisation

– Discuss the process of when to raise a concern

– Reflection on how Covid 19 has impacts safeguarding services.

Aim: To review the role of a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist. Tips for new starters with interview questions and how to gain experience. Review of the referral process and essential considerations when treatment planning and managing appointments.

Objectives:

– Consider the role of a Dental Hygienist & Dental Therapist and how to work effectively in general practice.

– Discuss modes of job hunting, interview skills and where to gain experience.

– Review the referral process and practice protocol.

– To develop realistic planning for the personal management of appointments.

Development Outcomes: A, B, C, D

Target Audience: Dental Hygienists, Dental Therapists (great for new starters), Dentists (dentists may find interest in discussions behind the referral process and making use of your Dental Hygienist) Dental nurses aspiring to become DHTs.

Aim: Going back to basics. Reviewing Cross infection Protocols. Identifying causes and transmission of micro-organisms, we discuss methods of prevention and importance behind prevention and infections controls following HTM01-05 policy

Objectives:

– Identifying causes and transmission of micro-organisms

– Review methods of prevention and infection controls

Review the 7step hand washing sequence

– Consider prevention protocol following HTM01-05 policy and discuss changes to protocol in working practice.
