Overview
This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed to progress into employment or the Access to HE level 3, in preparation for university. The course will teach you the basics of academic writing, research skills and time management. You then have a choice of units (on application please mention the strand) that will enable you to successfully progress forwards.

You will have a choice to focus on a specific area from Applied Science, Business, Health Science and Law. Course content will depend upon the area selected. All students will complete mandatory units in Writing, Research and Time Management.

- Principles of Safeguarding
Law Strand:
- Introduction to law in UK
- Law in the workplace
- Understanding Retail Consumer Law
- Law in Action: Criminal Law
- Consumer Law
This course is 19+ only.
Entry to this course requires Maths and English at a level 2 or C.
If students are taking GCSEs at the point of entry – these students will be considered on a discretionary basis.
Assessment is portfolio based with unit assignments and presentations.
Successful completion of this course can lead to progression employment or the Access to HE diploma. The course is designed to allow students to progress to Access to HE and university; then on to their chosen career in Science, Health and Social Care, Nursing, Business or Law.
