Career Success and Employability

Our Goal is to Help All Our Students Flourish

Career Success

Our students have many goals - work, family life, leisure interests, commitments to causes and campaigns.

We provide careers advice for all our students, with practical guidance on how to apply for work.

The Careers Guidance Team

Our fully qualified and experienced Careers Guidance team are here to support you with every step of your Career planning. We can support you with:

  • Choosing a suitable career
  • Identifying the right qualifications to get you there
  • Developing your employability skills
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance your employment chances, like volunteering and part time work

Job Search Skills

We can also help you with job search skills like finding suitable employment, writing CVs, application forms and covering letters and using social media to find work.

One to one Support

We offer one to one support through a daily ‘drop in’ service in the one-stop-shop, and individual appointments are available to all students.  The Careers team also work with groups of students in tutorial time. Your Careers Adviser will come and introduce themselves in the first term. We also have a wide range of self-help resources available on the Careers Service Moodle pages online.

Careers Events and Work Placements

We also run a series of careers events throughout the year including Careers and Wellbeing fairs. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date.

We set up work placements, and organise apprenticeships. We encourage our students to volunteer and try out new activities. We are here to help you plan and make a success of your career.
