English Workshop

English and Literacy are vital skills, essential to achieving success in education and employment. Our lecturers assess and enrol students, giving advice and guidance on the appropriate level of a course. 

The English Workshop offers a range of accredited courses from Awards in English to GCSE English, including Functional Skills English.

Community Skills for Life offer Literacy and Numeracy classes at Bolton Royd and in Community Centres around Bradford. You can enrol on the courses throughout the year.

We offer the following English courses:

  • City and Guilds Functional Skills (Entry Level)
  • City and Guilds Functional Skills (Level 1 and 2)
  • City and Guilds Awards in English Skills (Entry to Level 2)
  • WJEC GCSE English

Maths Workshop

This offers you a friendly, student-centred approach to learning. You can gain recognised qualifications whatever your level or ability. The Workshop also provides support for those on another College course needing help with Mathematics.

We offer the following Maths courses:

  • City and Guilds Functional Skills (Level 1)
  • City and Guilds Functional Skills (Level 2)
  • AQA GCSE Mathematics (Linear)
  • Edexcel AS level Mathematics
  • Edexcel A level Mathematics
  • Edexcel AS level Further Mathematics
  • Edexcel A level Further Mathematics

For most courses you will work as part of a class or a group, using the Workshop for extra help. Some courses enrol throughout the College year.
