Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. The FAIRTRADE Mark is a registered certification label for products sourced from producers in developing countries.
Bradford College and Bradford College Students’ Union assign great importance to their role in preparing students for the wider world and contributing to sustainable development.
We believe that understanding and managing the impact our actions have on people and on the environment is an essential part of being an ethical and socially responsible college.
We are therefore working towards being recognised as a Fairtrade College.
This means stocking and selling Fairtrade wherever possible, using Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar etc at meetings, and having a policy, campaigns and events that promote Fairtrade.
