The Bradford College Education Trust

At Bradford College we aim to move with the times: as society changes and evolves, our mission is to offer the high quality education, training and services that the community needs, in Bradford and beyond.

In recent years we have taken on two major areas of activity to widen our involvement with students and to generate new enterprise and opportunities:

  • We are setting up academy schools and specialist studios offering high quality education to different age groups including 3-16 year old.
  • And through the Bradford College Group we are involved with organisations that are committed to building education and employment and are offering a range of services of value to our students, employer partners and other customers.

The Bradford College Education Trust

The Bradford College Education Trust (BCET) is a multi-academy trust based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The Trust was developed by Bradford College and came into existence on the 16th March 2012 as a result of the strategy agreed by Bradford College Corporation to grow the family of schools and academies which were to be part of the family.

The goal of the Trust is to transform learning, educational achievement and life opportunities ensuring successful progression for children and young people of the local and adjacent communities, so that they can fulfil their potential as individuals, as citizens, as employees and as leaders in a rapidly changing world.

The Trust currently includes:

  • Appleton Academy: a 3-16 all-through Academy in south Bradford, specialising in science and sport.
  • Samuel Lister Academy: an 11-18 school situated close to the north-west boundary of the city.

The Trust is looking to grow the family of schools and academies by supporting other schools in the West Yorkshire region.
