Bradford College

Supported internship programmes for young people living with a learning disability and/or autism, aged between 18 and 24.

Here at Bradford College, we are proud to partner with DFN Project SEARCH offering internship programmes to young people living with a learning disability and/or autism, aged between 18 and 24. The programme follows the school year and runs from September to July, offering meaningful work experience.

Alongside Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, Hft a learning disabilities charity, DFN Project SEARCH and Bradford Council, we will be offering immersive internships, designed to provide competitive and transferable skills preparing young adults with learning disabilities for full-time paid work.

We provide an environment for teaching, as well as workplace opportunities and work place mentors. The learner will be provided with a tutor who will deliver work skills training as well as a employability qualification.

Work Placements and Employment

Over 70% of the young people who have previously completed the Project SEARCH Programme went on to find paid work
The interns will gain 900+ hours of work experience
Interns will develop a CV, learn how to search for a job and prepare for interviews

“Being part of the Supported Internship programme allows us to provide an amazing opportunity for our students to work within a key local organisation and to develop vital employability skills and competencies in order to be successful”
