Read how Usman Manzoor went from top-ups to being on top with the help of Bradford College University Centre.
Usman Manzoor, a successful mobile phone salesman and all-round nice guy joined Bradford College University Centre with an NVQ in Accounts & Finance. He successfully completed a HND in Marketing & Advertising before topping up to BA (Hons) in Marketing Communication.“I was attracted to Bradford College University Centre because the lecturers are very supportive and hands on with their students. My lecturers were inspirational and instrumental to my success.”
Ambitious and motivated, Usman completed the HND/top-up route because it provided the perfect mix of academic study and industry experience. “During my final year I completed a project that really tested my experience and skills. I turned a live brief and a small budget into a successful marketing campaign. This was far more exciting than writing a 6,000 word dissertation!”
Usman’s degree success led to work with the National Enterprise Campaign where he rubbed shoulders with entrepreneurs such as Tre Azam, Tim Campbell (The Apprentice) and Levi Roots (Dragon’s Den).
Usman now works as the Enterprise Hub Co-ordinator for Bradford Kickstart where he provides business support to the local community.
